Bummer!

Well,  it was too good to last.  Tom was doing excellent in his recovery from disc surgery but last Thursday on his way to work he suddenly got the worst headache of his life.  Skull splitting, blinding pain that caused overwhelming nausea and vomiting.  He raced home and upon lying down the headache dramatically improved -- yes, you guessed it, the classic signs of a spinal fluid leak.

He has now had a second surgery to seal the leak and will spend all week in the hospital with a spinal drain in his back so that 10cc of spinal fluid can be drained every hour -- exactly at 20 minutes past the hour.  Oh, what joy.  Isn't life grand!
